Data Visualizations

I am very excited to share the release of new data visualization graphs embedded in your iWalkObservation Dashboard and in all three iWalkObservation reports.

Observations Over Time

You will find the Observations Over Time graph and three base data blocks on both the dashboard and the whole school report. Use this information to quickly see the number of observations and the frequency of your observations by day, week, month, or year.

Observation Frequency

With the Observation Frequency heatmap quickly identify observation trends across a calendar year. A great chart to consider how to improve observation trends, feedback and practice.

Observations by Type

How does the type of observation you use most impact the feedback you give? Consider this as you review the tools you reach for most in the Observation by Type area map.

Two new bar graphs will help you visualize your rubric-based observations. Frequency of Elements Observed quickly shares the percentage of time a specific element is observed while Performance Rating by Element brings to light the frequency of each performance indicator.

The frequency of observed look fors can now be viewed as a graph in the Custom Look Fors report. Every sub-list and each element is displayed helping you and your teachers find patterns in observed instruction.

This update comes with a number of small but important UI, text, and graphical updates. A new global narrative text box has been added to your Custom Look Fors observation tool. Regardless if you select to have a comment box for each look for list, your global narrative comments will remain. This and many other updates are the result of feedback from users. Thank you! iWalkObservation has grown as a grassroots application from my school office to yours.
